  • Joseph Bentley customer service

I use my hand tools an awful lot so only buy good quality. For the past few years this for me has been the Joseph Bentley stainless steel range. Alas, I managed to split the metal just under the tang on my border spade over the weekend.

Yesterday I emailed a picture of said spade to Joseph bentley and without quibble a new spade is on its way to me. It is not often customer services work well but I have nothing but praise for
    Alexandra in JB's. Quality.

It is nice to hear of firms that actually provide customer service. Well done that company, and well done PW for naming them.

OH had very similar experience with Hozelok a few weeks ago. Was using a wand we had bought less than 12 months ago, and it suddenly 'dropped to pieces'. Contacted Customer Services, and we how have a brand new wand (and if I'm honest, slightly better than the one that broke).

It's nice to know that there are still some companies who are proud of their good name, and go out of their way to be helpful.

I had similar good service with a 'Neverbend fork' - phoned Spear and Jackson saying I'd bent a fork in clay soil, asked when I bought it - and they said as it's within it's first year pop it back to the shop and they'll replace it for you - any problems give us a bell when you're there.

Went down, fine - np. Quite pleased

I also had A1 service from Minky - the ironing board/covers people.

I bought a new board from A**a and noticed that it had a split in the underlining foam.

Dealt with by email and within a week of asking for a replacement was delighted to receive a new cover which was of BETTER quality than the one it was intended to replace!

How could they not replace it after:
            a) it IS called "neverbend"
            b) the absolutely classic letter you wrote them!
