This morning on the hearth rug in front of the fire place i did something i have not done for twelve months it took me about twenty five minutes .

I was going to suggest that, but not for chimney sweeping

Please ignore everything I say, I make it up as I go along, not only do I generally not believe what I write, I never remember it either.

My OH has this certain date and every year she says, "do you know what date it is", Um.....August the somefink?
"No, its the first day we kissed" and then looks at me expectantly, as if to ask if I've got her anything.

How does she remember it? I can't even remember my shoe size most of the time.

I did something dirty on my hands + knees today ... cleaned out the wretched oven.

                          Took an hour.
Hopefully it won't smoke the house out now.

Reminds me of another apt story. My old neighbours, both sadly departed now (but both had a good life and lived until there nineties), wanted to get engaged during WW2. Money was tight so old George doubled an elastic band and put it on Betty's finger.
George was so chuffed she'd kept it! She still had the elastic band in her jewelry box when she finally passed away earlier this year!
