  • I've been given a greenhouse

I've previously only grown tomatoes so would like some advice on where to start.

I've got to do a base for it to sit on so thinking a bag of sharpsand or similar from Wickes and then some flags I already have as a base.

But What to grow? I've done tomatoes and don't want to again as I can't tend to them everyday. Busy life. What do people recommend to a complete beginner? Whether fruit, veg or flower.

    I've been given a greenhouse

    Lucky you!!!

Before you lay flags could I suggest you consider making a raised bed along at least one side, leave it to drain into the soil. This will have more compost than a growbag or pot so hold more water and need much less tending (busy life!).

I also use a timer and a soaker hose for watering - no effort at all!!!
The proof of the growing is in the eating.
    Leave Rotten Fruit.
    Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potasium - potash.
    Autant de têtes, autant d'avis!!!!!
Il n'est si méchant pot qui ne trouve son couvercle.

Put in a watering system and it looks after itself. Only need to tidy the plants up once twice a week. Ideal plants are cucumber, peppers, chillies and tomatoes. I put a watering system in this year and everything has flourished.
