  • It's that time of year again

If you weren't sure when to start feeding the soil take a step outside and get a good lung full. Just been out mowing the lawn and over-seeding, also struck my first cuttings (lavender) - hopefully anyways.

Smells like a pigs R's out there!

          Same here
We used to live between two pig farms...both less than 200 yards from our house...when we'd been on a long car journey it used to be the 'refreshing'? smell of home.
I still get comfort from it.

That reminds me of going on holiday as a little girl with my mum and dad in September. Ahh memories of muck spreadin'.
I hasten to add that we didn't do the spreading, we just used to smell it through the train window on the way to the seaside!

Round here the charming farmers spray the fields with processed human waste. My house backs right onto a crop field and we can't open windows for a few weeks, as our eyes water it's so bad! It's better than three years ago, though, when they first started and had the mix a little strong! Even the regional media was involved, as Brockham was notorious for smelling like a urinal!

Saying that, the smell has reminded me to dig some rotten manure and bring it back home. If you can't beat em...
