  • it's getting a bit worrying!

Just seen the local news, and there has been yet another attempted child abduction!

There's been 3 in Glasgow, one in Irvine and now one in east Kilbride over past few weeks, police not sure if they are linked, some have happened in daylight when kids coming out of school, Irvine only 10 minutes from us, schools have issued letters. Stacey has band practice on a Monday thankfully in the light of these one of the boys who lives in next street, has walked her home the past couple of weeks as I've been working and unable to pick her up.

Whilst I understand that it's scary and if it happens to your kid then it's absolutley terrible the fact still remains that a vast majority of children will be totally safe and although it's natural to worry (and the media do revel in the hype....) it's also a big shame when some parents get so scared that they wrap their kids up in cotton wool and don't let them develop naturally. Teach your kids what to look out for and encourage them to go places with reliable friends and they'll be fine.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

yep he will be offered lifts when I'm not working mondays!
She discovered last night that his mums a cook, he gave her some homemade fudge, she's gonna ask for the recipe when she sees him next, guess that will be next to make then!

I am lucky that the kids she knows are all very sensible and do look out for each other, the band are from 12 to 18 years and are a great bunch of kids.

A couple of weeks ago as my daughter was walking home from school a young guy wolf whistled at her from his car, she didnt recongnise him so ignored it, when it happened the following week she got a bit scared and now I pick her up when she is going to be late home as its usually dark by then. Other times she walks home with the lad next door but one, its rather a case of saftey in numbers than walking on your own.

There's been another one 13 year old girl on way to school yesterday in Greenock, about 40 minutes away, a female in another car came to aid!

That's horrible.I can totally understand your concern.I know supposedly these things are happening no more than when we were little, but it doesn't take away the worry.
Hope they can find whoever is responsible so you can all relax just a bit,in the meantime, take sensible precautions, but try not to let it get in the way of living!

Hopefully whoever will get caught soon, maybe the police should be in every road on every corner in the area till someone is caught. but that wont happen.

Just picked flowers up from after school sports. I hate it when I see little kids out on their own during the day never mind at night.
