    Does anyone know if you have to have insurance cover [damage/public liability] if you are renting a piece of land to someone?

    Something lurking in the back of my head tells me you have to have cover as you are technically a landord, but I do have a lot of nonsence bouncing around in thier

    Probably no legal obligation, but a very good idea to have property-owner's insurance (says OH, who is a surveyor, so knows quite a lot about property-related rules etc).
    As landlord there is great potential for liability and other expenses, insurance cover for this is STRONGLY recommended!
    Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

      I want to find out as a roof blew off my neighbours hay store/shed and did £2900 worth of damage. She is denying it ever happened; I have loads of pictures and also the two roof sheets which are nearly 20ft long and 5ft wide, had to be lifted off with a forklift! My insurance has paid out a pittance.
