  • I'm back! I've missed you lot!

Oh eck, I don't know how I did it, but I went cold turkey (oh, ha ha ha!) for two weeks. I had all sorts of plans for the garden over Christmas, just digging over, adding manure and rotten shavings, sowing stuff under cover, erecting greenhouse and cold frame...

...well it was so sodding cold all I did was plant the remaining hyacinths, re-pot my blueberry, grape and buddlea (sp?) and fleece up the vulnerable shrubs and kiwi vine. I also went oop North to Bolton and had a great time, even venturing out to the sales in Manchester, where I spent not a lot (what I did spend was on a boozy lunch with friends, followed by a boozy evening in town, followed by 80s club - yeah!). Saw the sister and family, decided I'm adopted, came back and then got landed with a cat! Which leads me to a whole new post.

It hasn't been a complete gardening waste, I did add some rotten shavings and manure to some pots to insulate them and tended my herbs, plus I've bought all my seeds and seed potatoes for the year in a garden centre that had 20% off. Hurrah!

That's pretty much it. Hardly done any riding as it was just too cold for me - the times I went out I just came back freezing and miserable, so I did a bit of hibernating!
