  • Ice cream or sorbet

Well...This has just sparked a major debate off in my house hold, OH like ice cream and I likes sorbet, but because we've ran out of ice cream...all of a sudden he likes sorbet...so the question is "Which do you prefer"

He could live to regret that as you of course are delighted with his new found interest in Sorbet and only buy that for the next 6 months.

Icey-cream for me, preferably made with proper cream & real vanilla... And if it should happen to have caramel & pieces of fudge in too... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Difficult quandry. On the one hand I adore icecream. On the other hand I have a dairy allergy, so it hates me with a passion. Will go for sorbet I think. But the nice mango one that is creamy like icecream.

I try to get hold of Rice Cream most times (cause it is almost like icecream if you close your eyes and pretend really hard) but the OH says it's tantamount to cruelty.

I used to be an Ice Cream addict (even in the winter/snow/rain) until I went on the Atkins diet, now it nearly all just tastes of sugar! Unfortunately that means I only like the 'proper' stuff. I adore Sorbet, especially Blackcurrant, and I love frozen Yoghurt too.

Last summer (not the one just finished) I made loads of ice-cream and sorbet (if I have to choose, sorbet it will be, but really depends on flavour). Didn't get the machine out this year, because of the lousy fridge-freezer.....
Mapel Ice cream is delicious, but so is Raspberry Sorbet......

                    Too tough to call.

It's entirely mood dependent... right now I could MURDER a nice sorbet though.

I think this is Dutch, I could be wrong but it's certainly Flemish, "Spooms", basicly a sorbet, part frozen, with whipped cream folded in and refrozen, kin amazin!!!!!.

I'm going to HAVE to try making that. It sounds LUSH.

In fact - my mouth's watering like crazy just at the thought of it!!!

The way my throat's feeling right now...I'd kill for a lemon sorbet!
But if my throat wasn't an issue then a really good quality pecan & caramel type icecream would go down a treat.
Ice cream is actually one of those things I've really gone off, unless it's really good quality. Most of the cheap stuff leaves a really nasty artificially sweet aftertaste.....I blame giving up the diet coke a few years ago...my tastebuds have never been the same!

Another one for lemon sorbet, nice and tart. I'm not a great fan of ice cream except Mackie honeycoomb (sp?)
