My Mother used to say "What you looking so miserable for? It may never happen!"
That's how I regard long range weather forecasts - and that includes tomorrow's.
Anyway, I'm still wearing my warm winter clothes, no need to look for them

Ever the pessimist I think that after the last few days I have no hope what so ever of growing much of anything.

At least if the forecasts are right we should have a booming entry on the annual Snowman Comp

My mom says this every year she has already started stocking up on tins, no really she has. She has said this for the past five years because she read it in the newspaper about the el nino effect, we have a bad winter every five years and the birds have had two broods this year.
I take each day as it comes as didn't they say it was going to be a cracking summer. Yeah right weeing down here at the moment.

A cold winter will reduce the numbers of a lot of those nasty bugs and beasties, should it happen.

I stock up on tins every year.
In fact, I have what my husband laughingly calls my 'terrorist cupboard' which contains enough food, loo roll, pet food and any family medications for a full month.
Decades ago I was (briefly) in the army. I am a firm believer in the 'nine meal rule' and don't care if its caused by weather, fuel strike or flu....I'll be ready!

As for the weather forecast, I only listen to Penellype now.
                No pressure though.....

A preppers cupboard is normal it seems. Phew!
                  Not all homemade jam either.

It's a shame I don't have any way of defending my allotment against ravenous hoards of looters. Let's hope we get some advance notice so I can harvest everything edible.

I now have a list - revised from last years of 'stuff' to get in the next few weeks like bagged coal, sticks etc.

However, if the country grinds to a halt, and lets face it 1 leaf on a train line or 4 snowflakes shuts roads and schools ect us Grapes will have no alternative but to head for Muddled's house where her cupboard will keep us all going.

I suppose at a push we could all bring a donation - I bagsy bringing the flare gun!
