I don't think I realized quite how horrid my last 2 jobs were until I got this one! People moan on and on and they have no idea how ghastly some jobs and some bosses are. Life's too short to put up with piggish bosses and colleagues so I hope you find something you deserve soon! I'll keep everything crossed for you! Well......

Having been made redundant within the last couple of weeks I admit my first reaction was to think: 'At least you have one'.
That said, I was miserable in my last job and am so much happier now even though I don't have one so I do sympathise. Good luck finding a new one soon.Comment

Trouble is, I don't think I'm that good at my job, contrary to what people say. There are much better folk out there than me - I think that's the problem.

It is hard with a family to support as well, not being able to give it up and say 'stuff it I am going to find something I want to do'.
I hope you can find something you love, before it grinds you down too much

My OH works for himself, designs electronics and contracts. He went for it about 2 years ago and is a lot happier now. It was a bit of a risk, but at the time I was working too. Even he who has a very cushy number going on now says if he never had to design anything ever again he wouldn't care.
He really wants to do something 'handy' as he is very good at DIY and making things, but he knows it won't pay our bills so he has to stick at it a bit longer. He also has hankering to design toys but the pay for that is really lousy.
And of course he has my expensive lipgloss habbit to subsidise... lolComment

Sympathies.
I don't like my job either, haven't for years. Have stuck with it cuz the pay is really good and I only have to do one or two night shifts a week to have a decent take home pay.
Hope you find something more you soon. xImagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.Comment

I know how you feel. I'm in the same position and the worst thing is I know this job won't further my career, it's just a stepping stone from year 1 to year 4
But to not hijack your thread, hope it all goes well and you find something that will make you more content.Comment

I took pension credits in February last year after being unemployed for nearly 4 years.
It was one of the best things I have ever done, money wise I'm not too well off BUT..................it has it's compensations
More time for the allotment, yes, I can go there when I want.
Being over 60 I have a bus pass & and a senior citizens rail card so I have time to have days out cheaply.
And yes Madderbat comes too .................................sometimes.
Sorry to all you grapes who are "looking for" or who wish to change jobs.The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.
