  • I am officially senile.

This week I have phoned the vet to MOT one pony and tried to give her my previous address, not realising I'd already changed it with them. Today I just tried to register my Gardening Club card, thinking that it was stupid that I've spent nearly £100 this year and not got any points (they can take your postcode and search for it, but without it being registered this is useless, innit?). Anyway, turns out I HAVE registered it.

    Oh dear.

I think I should join too as I drove myself mad looking for pencils today - two of which were behind my ear . I also had to hats on as I forgot I had one on.... there's no hope , I'm only 36!

I have terrible trouble with memory and concentrati.......
I'm always asking myself when I walk into a room or go upstairs, "What am i here for?"
It's no joke, I'm getting worried about it.

Do what I do Steve - go back to where you started (if you can remember where that was) and you may remember on the way what you were looking for.

                    You're not getting senile sluglobber...just sluggish !

Seriously though folks, suddenly having major problems with your memory can be down to very minor, transient things. The last big study done on memory, involving thousands of subjects, found that being busy was the thing most commonly linked to sudden inability to remember. Basically, the more things you have on your mind, the more you are likely to find that some facts get lost - it's like the shove ha'penny falls in the arcades at the funfair...And guess what, one of the best remedies was "getting away from it all" with a holiday !
There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

I have an AWFUL short term memory, (I blame having children!) but my long term one is great! I can remember stuff from when I was 3.

When I was working it was important to remember exactly what I was doing; now, what does it matter if I keep going up and down stairs looking for things - its good exercise!
