    HPV Virus Petition Request

    I have lodged a petition on the No 10 Downing Street e-petitions site. This is not gardening related - it is about boys, as well as girls, getting the HPV vaccination. My dentist told me that mouth cancer is on the increase and that there is strong evidence it is related to HPV which causes cervical cancer. It is probably as a result of oral sex - who said it was risk free!! Boys can get the virus as well as pass it on. Mouth cancer is a ghastly condition and kills more people than testicular and cervical cancer added together as well as causing an awful lot of highly visible misery.

    Please copy the link into your browser and sign the petition if you can. It would also be great if you would copy and paste the hyperlink to the site into an e-mail and forward it to everyone in your address book! And ask them to do the same.

    Hi I have just signed the petition. I showed this to my 18 year old daughter for her opinion and she fully agreed as do I.

      I'm in. Although my daughter is only 8 at the moment the time will come in the future when we have to have 'the talk'. (not too soon I hope!)

        I had mouth cancer when I was 25.
        I lost half my tongue, a quarter of my teeth, and a chunk of neck muscle. The surgery to remove 3 tumours has left me with a paralysed shoulder, only partial use of my left arm, and chronic back pain.

        In a nutshell: do all you can to avoid getting it.
        If the HPV vaccine helps, then everyone should have it (what a nasty little germ that is)

          My daughter has had the injection for the cervical cancer that the schools are doing for teenage girls, she has one more to have which has been postponed. I totally agree with them having these and the more information about these conditions the better.
          Cancer of any sort is a potential killer. Having lost my sister to cancer I am very much for anything that can help.
