  • How was your weekend?

    Mine was bladdy fantastic!

Friday night my Ma came round to babysit whilst LadyWayne and I headed round to the pub for a burger (the best burger I think available within a 20 mile radius) and some time on our own. Had a nice stroll back - although it was a little chilly.

Unfortunately, Bean was teething so I only managed 4 hours sleep, but it was cool.

Saturday was a bacon sarnie and then got to painting the front door frame. We then headed to the village "carnival" (like a large village fete). We took Bean's quilt, a cool box and some beverages, along with Brother-in-Law and his girlfriend, then met some friends and sat in the sun whilst listening to the steel band, watching the dog agility and falconry displays (which was fantastic), and then witnessed some poor dude from one of the pub tug of war teams bust his knee. Had an ice crem, and some grub then headed back home once it'd all finished for some Indian.

Yesterday woke up and went to buy a new bed (super king this time to fit Bean in teh middle), and then finished off the door. Then set about making pans and pans of chutney - man that takes a long time! Had a lovely steak dinner with some home made bernaise sauce and a glass of red whilst watching Waking the Dead and then to snooze.

Woke at 5 this morning and took Bean off to the childminders for the first time (a practise run for me before LadyWayne goes back to work in a couple of months time or so). Manged to get showered, shaved (me, not him), dressed fed and round to the childminders for 7:30, was in work by 8, and all's good in the hood!

    Have a good one?

      Mine was good, Particularly yesterday.
Saturday DS and I strolled down to find a fax machine to send the required receipt to the PS3 support team in the hope they will agree to fix/replace his machine ( you would have thought in their industry that they would have moved on from faxes by now) Had a mooch in gamestation and bought DS a new game for his Wii.
Yesterday we had a trip out to the garden centre, followed by breaking into our house that the kitten had managed to lock, with the help of half the street, topped of with as called by my son an 'allotment banquet'.
we are on the list at this site and our friend has a lottie there so were invited to join in the annual harvest meal. Good fun and great food! Hope we get our lottie soon....

Sounds like you had a cracking Birthday weekend! Excellent stuff, feels like such a bonus when when the sun shines too. We went for the super king size post-baby - makes co-sleeping much nicer. Look out for the John Lewis bed sets in the sale - otherwise it can be sooo expensive with that size!

We hung around the garden in the sunshine on Saturday, made fab lamb shoulder curry and homemade parethas for dinner; then Wirksworth festival (mum's village) on Sunday. Big artist community there, and people open their houses to display and sell art and craft stuff. Some brilliant work there, alongside the 'hmmm...how do I be polite about this' stuff. Very good musicians dotted around the village and in various gardens. Finished off curry for dinner with nice wine, and then braced myself for baby waking at 1.30 a.m., then 4.20 a.m...
            I don't roll on Shabbos

Glad you had a good one Wayne. Sorry you not well Andrea.

We had a good w/e - a good family celebration for my son (wizer) 30th birthday. He had a hog roast BBQ on saturday (teased his daughter it was Peppa Pig) and the weather was lovely and sunny, great for mid September. We the stayed over at friends and finished off Sunday at a garden centre and pub lunch :-)

Nah, I hate shopping anyways. I've got to do some today [bleugh] as we are down to bare essentials and I can't exist without passata. I've tried, and it ain't happening. Just caught a cold on the hop whilst I wasn't paying attention....that and spending time with a new set of people at college and going to Sheffield on Friday....all those germs

Great day yester spent at the lottie on my own ( nothing new there then ) gave some things to newbies, had a chat with a few peeps and asked allotment site manager about getting some branches cut off the trees just to the side of my plot, as for all the sun we had yesterday my plot was very shaded, not good for growing things that like the sun.

                        Mine was mixed...
I got sent home from work on Friday morning (11am), after I nearly passed out in the HR Managers office!! Went home, had a hot water bottle and lots of pain relief and slept for the rest of the day (ladies problems).

Saturday we drove to the new house and went on our Safari Lunch which was fab and didn't finish til 5pm. We wandered back to the house. Changed from our nice clothes into our scruffy stuff and worked on the house til 10pm.

Sunday got up at 7.30. Went to the corner shop for eggs, bacon and bread, came back and made breakfast, yum!! In-laws came round to check up on our progress. Worked on the house til 5pm. Drove home, OH jumped in the shower while I made a rissotto. Then I went out in the garden til 9pm - it was pitch black, and I scared an elderly couple walking up the road. I apologised and explained I was 'pruning by streetlight'. They laughed! Came in and made lunch for today then went to bed.

Oh, forgot to mention - I got new wellies from my brother too.

Can't work out how I'm going to wear them with all the stuff in them though (cheeses in the left one, flowers in the right).

Even once I've got the stuff out, surely with the wrapping paper round the middle they're a bit dangerous no?
