Have you got the sore throat, headache thingie? Mine turned into a full green-snotty headcold last week. You don't want that lad! Only just turning the corner today really. Hope you are soon feeling better. It's not the same without a bouncy HeyWayne!

Might be. Had a friend over for dinner on Saturday night and during the night I was starting to get a tickly feeling in my throat, then you know when you talk and feel breathless...

Thought nothing of it, thought it was maybe one of the dodgy ales I tried on Friday night playing tricks on me.

Woke up yesterday morning, did a quick rendition of First We Took Manhattan in my best Leonard Cohen voice, then realised I also had a headache and felt generally rubbish.

LadyWayne went off to see BoyZone and I pottered about in the garden and planted loads of stuff in the flowerbed I'd dug on Saturday. Got back in at about 9pm, went upstairs and did the ironing - then started to feel cold. So much so that I actually went downstairs and turned the heating up to 21 degrees!!!

Got into bed and was shivvering whilst watching a film. LadyWayne got back at about 11:30-midnight and when she got into bed she said I was hot. I said "thank you" but she said that I was almost painful to touch, so she wedged the duvet between us to stop herself getting burnt.

Woke up at about 4 am drenched in sweat and didn't get back to sleep. Result, one tired and achy Wayne.

Brought a nice box of tissues to work this morning and have been impressing everyone with my Barry White/Leonard Cohen impressions all day.

I never get colds!!!

Wayne, what on earth are you doing at work - go home this minute and don't go back until you're better

Seriously though, do take care and don't let it go on for too long. Hope you get better very soon [hugs]

Cheers scarey, I'm going home in 15 minutes, promise!

Going to cook nice comforting sausage and mash with onion gravy for dinner. Should feel better tomorrow, these things tend not to stick around with me - I don't think the germans survive at extreme altitudes.

You won't be popular if you've been generous and spread the bugs around I hope you do feel better tomorrow, but if not, do consider yourself and others, and give in!

HW; sausage and mash usually helps with me as well; comfort food. lovely.

Thanks for asking, I'm feeling fab even though the eye op was cancelled; I've managed to book it in at birmingham on Weds pm; so not ideal but do-able. I haven't got hayfever yet this year and not had a cold either...even though the OH has had several [and he usually doesn't get any].

Take care of yourself now.

Hope you're feeling better soon - comfort food and a lemsip sound like a plan for the evening

Me? I'm feeling a wee touch under the weather, but not to any great extent.

I'm a caring sharing person, can't help it! I've had several "can't remember the last time you were off sick, why not take the day off?" comments this morning. I think they just don't want to get it.

How are things with the shoulder/back now? Better? Man-flu? Who dear, me dear, no dear! Thought about not coming in this morning, but looked outside and thought at least I can't see the rubbish weather from the office...

Hope you feel better today. There's a nasty dose going around alright (both my oH and the toddler had colds over the weekend, I was threatening with it yesterday, but the toddler's escalating into a full blown fever bout and us ending up at the local casualty due to rubbish bank hol weekend GP cover, meant that mamma couldn't be sick - so I am doing a 14 hour day today so that I can "work from home" tomorrow, while OH and the toddler keep each other company today). rest up, plenty of fluids, and let Lady HW take care of you for a few days.

Does anyone know if manflu can be passed on over the 'net? My "a bit under the weather" has progressed to "death warmed-up". There may not be enough chicken soup in the world.

Just as the weather picks up as well.
