Default How many?

Without resorting to google or any other search engines, magazines or catalogues, have a guess how many seeds per acre are recommended be sown for Chantennay carrots to get the optimum yield.

My seed packet contains a couple of hundred I suppose so will not go very far at all

I will post the answer later, but one thing is for sure, we really get ripped of when buying seed.

I should imagine many thousand. Never seen a field of carrots growing - must be quite a sight

Rip off - Probably, but bear in mind the packaging, marketing, distribution, etc. costs for a £1 packet of seeds, against a bag full of seeds (about 25000?) for an acre!

Who wants to grow an acre of carrots ??? Maybe it's time for seed companies to get real and sell in quantities suitable for real people.

Norfolk.

Irrigated fields, in long beds spaced for machinery.

Got stuck behind a tractor towing a trailerload once for about ten miles, all the way past Mildenhall.

No, but the people behind us and our caravan probably did.

No, I think the next question is going to be. "How big is an acre?"

I mean, has anyone actually seen one? I haven't. I have no idea how big an acre is if truth be known.

Or a hectare for that matter, never seen one of those either.
