    How do I get rid of AccuWeather?

    A few people on this site mentioned AccuWeather. It looked as though it would be terribly useful so I downloaded the widget.

    Well of course it's not terribly useful (there's nowhere near enough to us that takes readings) so it just sits there at the bottom of the screen...

    ...and I regularly hit the rightmost one, several times, when trying to scroll down to read the next post in a thread - thus opening 3 or 4 new tabs and totally confusing myself.

    I've searched, but can find no way of removing it. Does anyone know please?

    Can't you just go into Add/Remove programmes and delete it Sylvan, or can't you do it like that?

      It isn't in there Flo :-/

      It's not in Firefox's list of add-ons either

        Is there an "unsubscribe" button anywhere on it? I think you need HotStuff, Currysniffa, or Zaz!

          I can't find one - but that could just be me being blind

          It's a firefox extension, but doesn't show in the extensions list, so there's nowt to disable

            I just had a quick 'Google' but there's quite a lot to wade through! You can download a removal tool, for some versions of Windoze, if that's any help! Good luck with it!

                I had an absolute nightmare while the Vine was being updated in that I accidentally disabled my sound card and there was no-one to ask! I googled and did all sorts to try and re-enable and then stumbled upon a wonderful thing called "System Restore". You can pick a date (so I picked the day before I did the dirty deed) and the computer restored itself to the time before the disablement. Aren't computers wonderful?!

                  FF... next time you have trouble like that, pop along to "Major Geeks". A very helpful bunch indeed.
                  Of course, geeks you know are better than geeks you don't... but when those you know aren't around, those that don't are handy.
