  • Horticulture classes, maybe RHS?

    Hi All,

I'm very interested in doing a part time evening or weekend course for some sort of organic gardening or horticultural subject (near London). I've seen that there are a fair few available in places like the Capel Manor college but they all seem to be day-time classes during the week, which will definitely clash with my job. There are also a few you can do online, which provide a tutor available online or over the phone, but I would much rather to attend classes in person to really see what I'm learning.

I don't intend on going into a career in gardening, I just want to know a lot more about organic and vegetable gardening for myself. Has anyone done one of these online courses or know where there may be weekend courses or something available?

I am doing an oline course through Stonebridge based in Cornwall, I am also doing an attendance RHS Level 2 course at Waterperry based in Oxfordshire.... out of the two, I would always recommend attendance based - it makes (for me) learning much more enjoyable and easy.

I understand attendance isn't easy if you have to be at work each day, I am self-employed so only have myself to answser to.

So, from all that waffle above:
online is better than nothing and RHS Level 2 can be done remotely

      Thanks Piskie,

I'm hoping to find one with attendance alright to see the tools and all the different varieties of plants and veg that they may have to show too. Fingers crossed!
