glad i not the only mad one then, as everyone else hates it, but when you work in a school you realise why you need 6 weeks off! people dont understand the hard work you do.

this is only my 2nd day off and spend over 15 hours clearing out 2 kids bedrooms and doing the rest of the house (ie: cleaning, washing etc) in readiness for my summer decorating! all 3 bedrooms and maybe a lick of paint in the hall, stairs & landing!! Mr SS gets the good bits of being around when the furniture is delivered and i do all the rest!! lol!

Have a great summer everyone x

I'm really looking forward to winding down, why did I wake up at 3.30 panicking about what I haven't done? There isn't anything! Room and desk cleared , 2 bags of recycling put out. Folders put into central collection to be allocated to new teachers of the groups next year. I couldn't set up mark books, because we haven't got definative class lists yet, will need to do that on the training days at the beginning of Sept. Plenty of time to gen up on the new courses, SO WHY CAN'T I SLEEP!
OH and I intend to go swimming at 6.30, and Vicky says she will come too! (If I can get her out of bed). I usually try to have some project for the hols, this year it is sorting the sons' clutter before they both head off again to uni (hopefully), and a 'me improvement' plan. Swim, Wii fit and the exercise bike thing. Can I make a noticable difference in 6 weeks? OH and Vicky are both keen to join me, so hopefully we will keep each other on track. I'm hoping more physical exercise will help me sleep longer too. I get really bad in the hols usually, sleep aroung 3 hours, get up for 3, go back to bed, can't sleep, then end up exhausted and taking a nap in the afternoon. The probs come when I go back to work, because the sleep pattern stays the same, but I can't take the nap, just imagine, 'Sorry kids, just teach yourselves, Miss is taking 40 winks!'
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

We've timed our house move for the school hols ~ actually it wasn't planned, it just happened that way.
So, 6 weeks off has become 6 weeks of unpacking, redecorating ... (well, that's what I'll be doing when Mr Sheds is around. As soon as he's gone to work, I'm off up the lotty )
