  • Holiday suggestions please

Hi everyone - Hubby and I have next week off work for a well deserved break. We would like to go away for a couple of nights/three nights but really dont know where we fancy!
We will be putting my old MG Midget (Henry) 1966 back on the road, but apart from that we are free to do whatever we want.
I don't think I want to travel too far, and we haven't got too much money to spend - bed and breakfast would be great, I don't really fancy camping (what with my bad back!).
Has anyone got anywhere theyve been to in the North West/North Wales/Lake District/Derbyshire/Yorkshire/Welsh/English Border regions they can suggest?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Bernie aka DDL

South West Wales, some lovely scenery (and a few nutty folks) or is that too far? Are you taking Henry for the holiday?

My best friend comes from Cardiff and I went to Uni there in the 1980s. S-W wales a bit too far Im afraid, although I know that the coast is fantastic. Don't think Henry will be coming on holiday - although that's something I never thought of! If he does the only packing I'll be able to do is a pair of undies and a toothbrush! Not a lot of room for luggage!

Went there in September for our Silver anniversary - fantastic place, fantastic people. Wouldnt mind going back there but fancied somewhere else - not much use am I? We stayed in a fab b&b in a place called Rosedale Abbey. If anyone wants the info I'll post it.

Thanks Shirl - I have s-w wales on my want to go to list. I'd love to have a look around Cardiff because I bet its changed since the 1980s. Wasnt part of the Pembrokeshire coast on the Best Place in Britain? How beautiful.

Don't watch enough telly to comment DDL but love living here. Wouldn't move ever if I had my way. Can find places for you to stay if you do want to come down here. The farm where I grew up is now a boarding kennels and they have a caravan they let for holidays too.
