  • holiday disaster/advice

our planned holiday to the Peak District on Saturday has turned to disaster as our very elderly motor home is under repair and it looks like it wont be ready by the weekend. So we are looking at last minute holidays.

We cant agree where we want to go! if we have to pay for b&b or hotel we may as well go somewhere a bit warmer but not too hot.

Anyone got any good ideas for a pair of 60+, we want more than a beach, and cheapish, by plane or South coast ferry? and no injections!
    help!

Could you not hire a motor home and carry on with your original plans?

Plenty of cold running water, no mod cons.... are you tempted?

Thank you for your kind thoughts but not tempted with cold running water in Sunny South Wales! Channel islands may be a good idea but so far only found short breaks.
Motor home to rent I think will be megabucks, and we Sooooo love ours even though its nearly 30! our own comfy beds and everything where we want it. I will investigate the cruises now. Actually feel quite downhearted! but thank you for your ideas.

My dad went to Jersey end of May he loved it.
He said it was very warm sailed from Poole.

the cruise looks fantastic, very tempted but not enough time to kit ourselves out for the posh dinners! but will definitely look into this in 2 years time when husband and I have our joint celebratory retiring holiday.

Looks like Jersey perhaps, will investigate further tomorrow.

No need to attend the posh dinners if you don't want to ........cruises are bargains at the moment. They can't fill the ships and prices are very good value. All your food is included.......
