  • Hey Grapes

Just a quick update here - you might remember I've been at the hospital having some cancer probs checked.

Having finished two weeks of radiotherapy on Friday, I'm feeling well, tired but they said to expect that - also, I can rest if I'm tired. The hair is fallling out in bunches but that's OK, it'll grow back sometime.

I had an appointment at the hospital on Monday, I was very nervous, but they are going to do a biopsy next week and following that, start treating any on the body. Very good news for me, especially as the doctor said he was 'optimistic.'

I want to thank everyone here for your messages of support and the whole bunch that I feel is always there for each one, no matter what the situation.

Thanks again, everyone - I really appreciate your support.
My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)

Thanks for the update Maytreefrannie good news indeed- I have been thinking about you and looking to see if you are still popping in for a chat. It sounds like they have good reason for optimism and I think you may be over the worst as far as radiotherapy goes - keep resting, keep optimistic and keep in touch!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

That's great news and brilliant that the Dr's are optimistic about your treatment, a friend of mine's hair dropped out because of her treatment as well, (she has an amazing range of wigs), when her hair grew back it was wavy and much shinier than before. Thanks for updating us, keep in touch. xxx

It was good to read your message MTF, I have been thinking of you often since you posted your original message, and was so pleased to see you back on the Vine. Great news that the view is optimistic, it sounds like you are in good hands. A friend of mine, who lost her hair through chemo/radiotherapy, shaved it all off and wore a scarf tied at the back - she looked amazingly chic! My nephew also lost his with chemo and when it grew back it was amazing - he has a wild afro now!

Lots of positive thoughts heading your way, take care. x

Nice to see you again x

I was told my hair might fall out, and to prepare myself I might think about getting it cut short.
So I cut my shoulder length blonde hair into a ginger crop ... and kept it all. You never know. I have got some lovely wigs though from this place, which I now wear for any Non-Uniform Day at school
