  • Henry the MG

Everyone please keep your fingers crossed tomorrow for Henry, my 1966 MG Midget as he's going for his MOT (at the garage where I work).
OH has been working really hard over the past few weeks to put him back on the road (Henry the MG, not OH!).
I have a window from reception from which I can see the MOT ramp - I'm so nervous! I was bad enough in October when I had my Golf MOT'd - I'll be having kittens tomorrow - my little baby!

I'm rooting for him, he needs to pass so you can drive him to Cadwell on 5th September for the MG Car Club's race meeting.......

I used to own a 1963 MGB. took two years doing a bottom up rebuild. Had it on the road 24 hours and someone though they would see if their Stanley knife was still sharp on the roof.

Before a month was out, a lorry ran over it outside my house.

Started to do another rebuild of it but somehow the sparkle had gone out of it.

Then on my 50th birthday OH bought me a 1976 version. had the orrible rubber bumpers but was great fun. Had to sell it though when we had the garage converted but at least it went to family.

Now wonder if I can convince her to buy another one for my 60th. Or perhaps a TR6
I am certain that the day my boat comes in, I'll be at the airport.
