Im off on holiday tomorrow, just me and my mum, as a bit of a rest after the nasty road accident i was in, ive just weighed my case and its over the 20kg, so im now pondering now what to leave behind so i dont get charged at the airport ! but surely it should count on your overall weight ! including yourself ! i weigh 8 stone so my case been a couple of kilo`s over isnt going to be as much as someone that weighs 25st with 20kilo cases ! but yet i will get charged extra, sorry if i offended anybody, but i was just thinking about it, whilst i re think my holiday clothes !!!

Just have to hope you don't put on any weight on holiday then!
Rules is rules, what on earth have you got in your case to weigh over 20kg!? Oh also there's a thread about a similar subject on MSE, bare in mind that airport scales don't have to be calibrated and may not be as accurate as your scales are.To see a world in a grain of sand

Sorry, I can't agree with the overall weight thing. I'm 6ft 7 so am never going to weigh the "average" weight. I have to pay a premium as it is because airline seats are not quite big enough, so we pay to have extra legroom - not as a luxury, more out of necessity.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

Louise - yes 8 pairs is too much!
Can you wear more clothes to keep the scales down at the check-in? I just chuck loads of stuff in my back pack for the cabin......if I'm over but I've only ever been over once on the way back from Glasgow and she let me take some stuff out and carry it.

I know im probaly a bit blinkered to the subject !! the last time we went away, i was sat next to a woman that must have weighed 30st, and it was no medical condition why she was so big, she must have put 7000 cals away in a 4 hour flight ! the worst thing was she over lapped into my seat and made for a very uncomfortable flight.

There's no way anyone could put away 7000 calories on a 4 hour flight.
Airline food doesn't have that much nutritional content.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

I would imagine my brother in law who has size 16 feet would love to be able to fit 8 pairs of shoes into his suitcase.
Who says size isn't important eh?A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/
