  • having a disagreement with ASDA

Seeing as I cant drive I am doing an on-line shop with ASDA.

    Look at this for madness;

    ASDA @t home

The price for a 240 box of PG tips T-bags is listed as £3 and they have an offer which is £8 for 2!!!!!!!!! I have rung to query and they say that if the price instore is £4 a box or indeed even £8 for 2 then that is what I will be charged!!!!!

I have finaly just spoken to someone who agrees its a mistake, that it will be recified (so it may have changed by the time you try the above link) but that I wont be charged anymore than £3 a box - well we will see when it gets delivered on Saturday!

Their prices are a bit daft sometimes.
I frequently have arguments at the tills when things have the wrong shelf label in front of them, and I get charged more than I expected to.

It sometimes works to your advantage.
I remember once something was £2.80, or you could buy two for £2. Bonkers.

I have noticed in the 'not so super' markets that they have special offers of '3 for £3', for example, then there's a multipack of 4 for £3.00 nearby (recent example, babywipes, which I use for the horses). It takes me ages to do my shopping if I go to these places, now, as I'm far too suspicious to just pick something up!

The cynic in me suggestes that if you want your 3 for a tenner wines to sell, price them at £8 each for a week or two then put them down - people will assume a much better quality wine!

However, I buy those offers too!

I'll have a "disagreement" with ASDA if they keep playing that chuffing advert at me - you know the one.

I went into Tescos last week to get a couple of onions [yes, I've run out!].

                  They were 50p.

                  each.

                  I didn't stay any longer.

Make sure when you shop on line, especially with tesco's that you check the offer page, as if it is advertised as bogof and you only order one you will only get one. I used to do the on line shopping and at first put two in if on offer. Well no one told me not to. !!!

Basically all the supermarkets are as bad as each other and have no interest in you, just your money. Got fed up with them a couple of years ago and now hardly use them at all (only loo roll and the like) and am far less stressed as a result and found that avoiding them and their "offers" seems to have saved me money!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

My daughter used to do all her shopping on-line with ASDA, then last Christmas they didn't deliver. They'd sent it to the wrong house, right number and street name except that hers is Way and they'd sent it to Avenue. Then she got a 'phone call from the person who'd received the shopping (at this point no-one knew where it was) the call said something along the lines of "I've got your shopping. Ha Ha Ha. All your frozen food is melting on my kitchen floor. I know your name, I know where you live, I know your phone number and I've got your credit card details." Fortunately the van driver remembered the house where he'd made the drop, but her number and card details had to be changed. Why did they put all that information in with the shopping? And do they still do it? We don't know because obviously she's never used the service since. I accept that it's handy FD, but be careful.

I agree with what you've all said, but can I just say Waitrose delivery is lovely. They're very helpful - they were out of my Bogofs on delivery so they bought them round later in the day! If there's anything thats substandard ring up and they refund double the price.

I understand they price match Tesco too. We used them because we had some money off codes, but it was such a change from Mr T's that I'm tempted to continue with them.....if only I could afford them.

We have Waitrose, or a 15 mile drive (I couldn't shop online for food!). Waitrose aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. Better production standards, better quality, and if you go in about an hour before closing, there are some real bargains in the 'reduced for quick sale' sections.

I always look out for those false bargains, hubby thinks Im mad, uite often find that 2 small jars are cheaper than one big one on offer etc, quite often the bagged veg is cheaper than the loose, just make sure you unpack it at the till. lol
