    Have the lunatics taken over...

    ...the asylum ? Anyone know anything about this ? Are any of the details/figures wrong ?

    You would think it wasn't just that black and white, wouldn't you. Well, you'd hope it wasn't so. We couldn't be being ripped off that much, could we. Surely ?
    There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

      I can believe it sure enough. What annoys me is, WE (in the UK) are expected to finance a 'save the Euro' deal, even though we aren't in the Euro......
      I remain unconvinced that banks need our help any more than they deserve it....
      Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

        I think this whole credit crunch has been the biggest asset-stripping exercise in human history. Just like all those companies bought out by massive competitors, "merged/outsourced"/deprived of anything worth money or able to make a profit, saddled with debt and then left to file for bankruptcy, owing everyone but the parent company money they won't get.
        And in this case, ignorance is probably just asking for more...but if politicians of all sorts are so willing to go along with the way things are, is there any point in knowing about this ? Will a petition really make any difference ?
        Someone tell me it's all just a bad dream...

          Avaaz are a serious, well informed organisation. Of course signing a petition can make a difference! Maybe not every time, maybe not this time but it takes mere seconds to register your voice and the more of us that do, the more we have to be listened to. Plus it's a bit like using your vote - if you don't bother, then you can't really complain about what happens. Get up, stand up!
