  • A Happy Chappy

In order to provide a little Ying to zebedee's Grumpy Old Git Yang I'd like to list the things that make me happy (which is a large proportion of the time), feel free to add yours, whatever they may be.

People saying thank you, and meaning it.
Beans' smile when he sees me walk through the door.
    Making other people happy.
Next now selling XXLong trousers (37" inside leg don't you know!)
Eating stuff I've grown myself from seed.
Seeing other people enjoy eating stuff I've grown from seed.
Listening to good music, and nothing else.
    Being given good service.
    Being outside in the sun.
Being outside in the cold, but having the choice to go somewhere warm.
Being outside in the rain, but having the choice to go somewehere dry.
    Cooking for other people.
    Mock the Week.
    Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
    Laughing.
    Bean.
    LadyWayne.
    Indian takeaway.
    A good book.
A cold beer on a warm day.
    Giving gifts.
    Figuring stuff out.
A fry up on a Saturday morning.
    Michael McIntyre.
    This place.

    Being alive
    Making other people happy
Helping people see what's good about their own lives
Riding my horse along the local beach when there is no-one else around
    Finding 'free' food
Taking the lid off the first jar or home-made something or other
Hearing my kids tell their pals how good home grown food is!
Reaching a point in life where i am truly satisfied with what i have and having no desire to half kill myself to achieve more

too many others to list ....

      I'm with you guys:
Seeing my son go off to school with a smile on his face.
Seeing him come out of school with an even bigger smile.
Watching him ride his bike (something no one thought he would ever be able to do)
Seeing my family when we've been apart for months
      Eating stuff I grew myself
Watching other people enjoy eating stuff I grew.
seeing seedlings appear in the spring.
      Driving my lovely car
I could continue but I can see you're nodding off already...

        Stopping someone crying
Telling someone you love them and seeing that they know you mean it
Giving someone a compliment and them accepting it as being genuine
Doing something for someone in total secrecy...
Them finding out it was you by accident
Finding a de-restricted country lane, with very little traffic and no blind corners or dodgy bends
Building something you've planned for ages and discovering it actually works!
Receiving something you ordered in the post
Seeing someone has dedicated a topic to you on the forum

Most of the things that have already been said.
          My boys and my daughter
My grandson with his cheeky grin,
People that say good morning / afternoon in reply to you
          People that say Thank you
People not on the phone while you are trying to serve them at the till.
          Sunny days
          Cold crisp mornings
Being able to sleep through the night.
          The list is endless
          Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
          and ends with backache

Today: taking in £400 worth of reading books for my class. (I asked Mr Sheds and his pals for a whip round, because we had no decent books for boys especially).
