  • Had a lovely surprise yesterday

    I had a parcel arrive from my Uncle in Australia. It was some things left to me by my Nan (who, as some of you may remember, I only ever met twice, so hardly knew, who died the same week I miscarried) and was so unexpected, I was in shock I think. I sat down by myself to explore and found;

    A ruby ring - possibly only costume but a girl can dream cant she!

    A diamante necklace and bracelet

    5 apostle spoons, from various places in Australia (will get there myself one day)

    Some Australian coins

    A fold up fan (prob give this to Hannah)

    AND best of all a porcelain doll; her dress isnt of a colouring I would have picked myself, being mustard with green patten but she has the prettiest face and her green eyes are accented further by the green in her clothes. She has soft long dark brown ringlets and gorgeous kissy lips with a real english rose complexion. The label says she is called Olivia, which is sweet as that is the name of my friends baby who has given me such comfort these past weeks.

    The parcel must have cost a fortune to ship over (there were 16 $4 stamps on for just a start!) and I am immensly grateful to my Uncle for including me what with the distance etc.

    I didnt get a chance to tell you all yesterday as Daniel went to bed early at 5pm without any dinner after being lethargic and complaining of a tummy ache so from then on I was trying to get ahead with my chores and get to bed early in case we had a unsetteled night. In the end I had one or other of them for half the night in our bed and I cant sleep with fidgets !! LOL!!! So I was tired when they awoke and told them to go and play downstairs as they were making such a racket. When I surfaced 20 mins later I found them in the dinning room eating breakfast - Hannah is only 5 and she had it all sorted!! Bless her!!!

    I then went to kick the pair of Daniels trousers (that he had wet before going to bed early the previous night) out of the way of the washing machine, only to find my poor old black cat had falled alseep on them but cos of his colour I hadnt seen him but only felt the added weight of what I thought would just flip away!! He sat up and miaowed as if to say "wha?, what did I do?"!!! LOL!! that will teach me not to look first!!!

    I have then been busy today doing stuff round the house thats needed doing for ages whilst I had energy going spare (so rare for me these days!) so only just got online but dead chuffed to see I got 1st for 3 blooms and 2nd for prettiest rose!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hope you all had good days today,

    Love ya all!!!

                how lovely i have family in austrailia too, there is 41 pence to each austrialian doller so it cost your uncle about £26.24 to send the parcel to you, but im sure your nan thourght the world of you and your uncle would be aware of this so ensured you were included, its nice your family are so thoughtful, most of mine are only out for themselves. like when i was left something other claimed they had been promised it, my nan never promised anything she just detailed in her will as she didnt want people to argue which is what my grandad said when they all started moaning, i cant beleive they were so petty at a sad time. hope your recovering well all the best pc

                  Isn't it great to have a surprise present? Mums rarely do. I always used to wrap something up for myself at Christmas (from Santa - one year it said, 'with deepest gratitude for all your help this Christmas' !) but Himself always gave me a small surprise too.

                  Lovely to know you are in your family's thoughts.

                    How lovely your gran loved you even though she didnt see you very much. I think most of us grans love our grandkids where ever they are even if we dont see them.
                    Hope you are feeling better and dont go overdoing it.

                        Go on, taken-for-granted mums. Wrap yourself a little 'surprise' from Santa!
