  • Grumpy old Git

I now have my bus pass, I am a grandad, soon to be twice over, I feel I am entitled to be a grumpy git. I hate bad mannered people, especially when I am shopping. I always hold doors for people, always have. Now when they don't bother to say thank you, I now say into their ear "Hey, don't mention it! Oh, you didn't!"
When I am on my own I always walk on the outside edge of the pavement
, especially when facing the traffic, so I hate it when people still can't be bothered to move over a couple of inches and give me room. The number of times I have felt like throwing myself into the road screaming.

OK, enough! What gets YOU going?

Similar to you ( but then, we are a similar vintage!) It's mainly rudeness I can't be having with. When kids stand with their hands in their pockets, chewing, in what is meant to be a non-casual situation - e.g waiting for a job interview!

I really hate the hat-wearing indoors stuff that goes on too. Why do they need a back to front hat on indoors? Don't they realise the peak on the cap is to stop them banging their foreheads on their computer screens?

Bah. Humbug! (Hmm, could just eat a humbug!)

Dog poo on the pavement, litter, spitting and chewing gum to name but a few, it's hard to pick one out of them but if I had to it would be litter, it's not all that long since I had to rescue a hedgehog out off those plastic loops that go around beer tin's, Lord knows how long the poor thing had been dragging it round.
There's laws against dog fowling and litter but has anyone ever seen it being enforced....I very much doubt it...sorry about the rant.
      |I'm also with you zebedee, I hate people that have no manners, there "FREE" so why don't some people use them, Rrrrrrrrr

With you Zebedee, I hate bad manners. If another driver lets me in I always say thankyou. Why can't other people. I also hate bad driving. going down the right hand turn lane to then cut in to go straight ahead....Grrrrrrrrr!
I could go on but then I would fill this thread and still be here tomorrow.
And I'm some way off the bus pass mark.

Lack of respect for people, animals, property and the environment; that strange belief that 'its only good if it comes out of a packet'; the whole Me Me thing; and (my big bug bear) NO MANNERS!

What is even worse than spitting is the way people clear their nostrils out all over the pavements. Then there is picking their noses and inspecting the results. Oh and bleeping cyclists who think pavements are their own domain and try and force you off (never works with me cause I won't move). I had two cyclists do this to me today. How about dropping litter (manky wee bleeps), take the rubbish home and put it in your bin - it's not rocket science. I'm nearly 39 and a grumpy git

On a positive note there are a lot of nice well-mannered people

Agree with you Zeb. What used to really get my goat was when my sons as youngsters would hold doors open for their elders and be completely ignored! These are the same so and so s who complain about the lack of manners in the young!
Really can not be doing with spitting either yuk

All of the above plus I'm back in a bad mood because the MP expenses thing is STILL going on and I don't care whether they're paying it back or not, if they had any decency at all they would never have claimed it in the first place - top of my list at the moment

Me too, me too. I'm a Nana 4 times over.
Hate drivers trying to drive while using their mobile.
Hate smart asses trying to cut in front of me while the rest of us wait to take our turn.
Absolutely hate drivers who drive up so close to me that when I indicate to go in my own gateway they are so close I'm afraid they're going to go into me.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

People who still continue to use their mobile phones while driving.
I think the offence should be treated the same as drink driving.

I really bladdy hate pedestrians on the cycle lane: there is a reason that there's a solid white line painted down the middle. This is my space ... that is your space.

I especially hate those idiots with dogs on elastic leads, or who let their animals run loose. How chaffing stupid are you? You wouldn't run your dog on the road, so don't do it on the bike lanes.
