Default Greetings all...........

I've just joined the Grapevine after reading many of your very interesting posts, and look forward to reading more.
I live in the High Peak, on the outskirts of Buxton, in Derbyshire -- a newcomer to the area and climate (!), actually, after nearly 30 years in south Devon.
Haven't done too badly with a container garden in my concrete backyard, with herbs, salads and a lemon tree which gave me seven tree-ripe lemons last year.

All the best and greenest,

Aurora

Welcome Aurora!!

I would normally have said that I hope you've brought yr wellies with you- but it looks like other areas are getting worse rain than we are ( makes a change!)

For those on the Vine who don't know Buxton- It's utterly beautiful.

What are you planning to grow this year???

Oh! Jealous now! Anything in my courtyard garden is at severe risk of cat (anything in tubs/pots) or blackbirds (cherry tree)!

Welcome to the Vine anyway, Aurora (lovely name!)

Derbyshire is utterly beautiful, we used to live near Matlock, and I'm a Derbyshire gal. But its tooo cold for me now, Buxton is high up so its probably snowing now!

Hi Aurora, hope you have success in whatever you're growing.

Hello and welcome to the very addictive grapevine Aurora.

Looking forward to reading more about what you are growing. Hoping to get a lemon tree myself sometime this year.

However, welcome Aurora (great name by the way - sleeping beauty?)!

Hi and welcome to the grapevine Aurora. I'm from Manchester and used to go walking in the Peak. I did my University Geology mapping project in the Buxton area. Happy days!

Hi Aurora & welcome. You'll certainly notice a difference then between Devon & Derbyshire! Sounds like you've got your courtyard sorted nicely, keep coming back on the vine & let us know how you're going on.

Hi Aurora and welcome. Have just spent the last couple of days in Derby. My OH has cousins in Alviston. Spent a bit of time there last year touring around. The scenery is beautiful.
