  • Great British Food Fight

... anyone watching it? I watched last year and thought it was good. This year has started with new boy Heston Bluwotsit taking on Little Chef.

I am recording the first show, but also watching on and off... even though I'm not happy with Heston (along with the other judges) rejecting my suggestions for the Walkers "do us a flavour" competition

I've never actually eaten at a Little Chef but the food presented on the show so far doesn't look too appetising.

I think Jamie is going to tackle pork this time and Hugh continues with the Tesco / chicken fight... can't remember what Gordon is going to do.

They always make you think it is going horribly wrong, but by the last show (Wednesday I think) it will all be a success, or at least on the way to it.

Its certainly looking like its all going pear shaped, but will watch the other progs to see how it all pans out.
Heston's chefs did seem a little sniffy about LC though. Tomorrow should be interesting.

I agree hestons chefs were making fun of little chef instead of trying to help it. The food they are trying to put on the menu wont work, in posh 250 a head restaraunt were people who watch ballet go to the opera and go to art galleys eat. But do any of us eat snails, lambs tongue or his other wired stuff. I looked at the fat ducks websie a few months ago and there was nothing on there id eat. If little chef made good food then id have no problem to go there, but the prices are high the food is bad so im not interested. My family have not been in 1 for years always calling it little thief. Prices may have come down now to get people through the doors. Id have let Gordon ramsay do it as he knows what hes on a bout the boss of the firm seems to have gon over boad with the i want wiered and wacky stuuf.

I agree, I like good simple food, cooked well and priced fairly. As do most other families on the motorways with kids to feed en route.
Ramsey would probably have been a better bet, or Jamie.

Gordon's doing more Nightmares and I agree with the others, they should have sent him in on Little Chef.

Ramsay has a track record of doing this and i love his kitchen nightmares, although little chef did not help themselves with cobwebs, ripped chairs and insects on the roof.

Thanks for the welcome Kirsty, ive been looking at the forum for a days now so decided to jump in.

I always want to get hold of him - and wash his hair! I'm sure it's really clean but it never looks it!

Wasn't that impressed with what Heston was doing last night although he came over as a reasonable enough bloke. As already said, his side kicks were very snooty but the Little Chef manager seemed far more dedicated than I expecting which probably says more about me than him. Not a great surprise that people didn't go for Heston's menu but am guessing it'll be toned down a bit tonight and more mainstream by the end. Makes better TV that way.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
