In the "for those left behind" thread, I've already offered my front garden, and explained all that I can provide.
I know its in Frogsville but the offer still stands.

OK, I'm in favour of Spongey's Gaff, but it will be a long haul for many, and would mean missing our regular 'pilgrimage' which I don't think Mr. G. would entertain. Maybe I could leave him behind.

Has anyone thought of Billing Aquadrome. Bit of a busman's holiday for us, as we go there to the LR show every year, but they have loads of space, excellent on-site Curry House, Pub and Chinese. Hotel next door, two pubs round the corner, Chippy, and a Filling Station. On-site Funfair, Watersports, Karting, Statics and Cabin/Pod things. Northampton is quite central too.

Make it the week before or after the LR Show, and it'll save me diesel!!!!

OK, tell me to shut up if ya like! LOL

I like Bob's offer but can see the impracticalities for many peeps as in passports, ferries etc...

OOOOOO I would love you all to come this way but realise I am the only one daft enough to travel so far. Not once but twice lol.
I know of a couple of places near the river. Will check out prices. There is a field that often has campers etc but no facilities to shelter from the rain, also would have to hire the loo's again, and is right on the road so would be noisy.

Son No2 suggested the campsite we go to, but being way down in Kent, it's maybe a bit far. I'm not sure on weekend prices as we usually go mid-week, but I can check up with Graham later this week. There is a hostel they run too, which adjoins the campsite, but I don't think they take caravans. The link if anyone wants a look is Palace Farm Doddington Self Catering Hostel and Tent only Campsite Near Faversham Kent, England, UK Bed and Breakfast also available.
For me I'd like either the end of May bank holiday weekend, as that runs into half term, but it was cold this year , or the last weekend in July, again for the same holiday reasons. It would also mean that if we are camping we could rope in our willing tent raising crew (Son No2, I do wish he'd get a vine name, and Kissykit).
I'll edit this post with prices later on.

I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

We've been going there for more years than I care to admit to LOL, and I can assure you it has improved a great deal. The inedible Curry is now excellent, and the new Chinese is also excellent. The site has changed hands and is now owned by a large company, who seem to have invested some money in the site. Last year they built a new indoor swimming complex, which I forgot to visit this year!
