Default A grape in print

Whilst at work the other night, cup of tea in one hand and a weekly horticultural "paper" (the current weeks edition) in the other I stumbled across a familiar face from the grapevine quite justifiably sharing the delights of her garden with the world as part of an on-going feature.

Nice garden SueA and not a Mrs D pose for the cameras in sight!!!!!!

Well done SueA. Would love to see the article. Can we get a clue where it is. If you can't mention it on the vine, send a PM. Dying to see it.

Thanks for letting us know that, Piglet.

Without giving away any state secrets, I think that it's initials may be GN.......? (and you look jolly fine, Sue A - nice to see a mention of JA's)

Well played!

OK, well it's not gardening but for you folks who are into family history/genealogy and who read Practical Family History, take a look at this month's edition about doing Huguenot research.

Are you a huguenot then Tony?My O.H. used to get magazines on family history when he had a go a tracing his but for some reason we couldn't find his grandmother on file anywhere, I think she may have been known by different names in her family & they put her down on the census under different ones!
I've been writing about the garden for about 2 & a bit years off & on now for 'the unamed weekly garden newspaper!', usually about once every 4 weeks. They asked me to after I entered some pics. in a comp. & they wanted to do a section on gardening in various parts of the country. Good spot Piglet.
P.S. I haven't got Mrs. D's lovely attributes to pose with Piglet!

Hi Sue

Jobbing historian with a bit of an interest in genealogy - but I'm supposed to be an expert on Huguenots, Brits in India from 1600 etc.

I do irregular articles, book reviews, that sort of thing plus edit a family history journal for the Huguenot Society, plus lots of other research in France stuff.

Don't know enough about gardening to write on it tho - that said could always do a piece on growing your own here rather than in UK I suppose.

Well done Tony. It occured to me while reading your posting that you could maybe do an article for the ex-pats on How to Grow in France? I'm sure there are expat mags ...

Have you written the history of English Gardens in France yet ? Plenty of work for you there n'est pas?
