  • Good Morning all!

    Morning all!

I hope you all slept well last night!

Well I slept like a baby last night, all the way through, makes a change! I often wake up early, way before it's time to get up and it is still dark and horrid out side. (sulks)

Anyway peeps, It's a bit misty here in good old Purfleet Essex this morning, at least the little snow we had here a few days ago has gone now but it is still on the cold side out there! The ground is still too hard to do anything with! " I want Spring! (she chants impatiently) lol

My mogies have had their breakfast and are scattered around the house having a hard days night already. LOL "cheeky lot!" They have been sleeping all night, now they want to copy their big cousins, lions tigers... and sleep all day as well!

Things will change for them as the weather warms up! They will want to get out more! *(Me as well by then!)* Show my girls the outside now and they would look out and say. "Do you honestly think we are going out there? in that!" then run away and find the nearest warm spot in the house Just like me LOL

Mind you my old tom cat Eseve is different! He is sitting up here with me in my study, looking out of the window, eyeing up the garden! (Thinks to himself "I'm wellard; bring it on, let me out there"!) As soon as I move I know he will be following me, but in front of me trying trip me over,to get there first, as cats do!!! He forgets he is at least 105 in his years

I have had him for 15 years now, since he was a small cat but not a ketten. My daughter found him starving and looking for a home, god knows how long he had been a stray?? He was wild as anything with everyone at first. Only loved my daughter, well she was the first one to feed him. For about a week All the wrong things though, crisps, ((chocolate; He is lucky to be here!!!) she was feeding him in secret then asked to bring him home. It took a good few years but now he is soft and soppy and loveable but is still topcat in the house, being the eldest he still puts the girls in their place though! lol

Well I'm out of here for now catch you later

    Have a good one people!
    Love Jan

    P.S.
Correction about the weather thing! Just had a proper look outside when I let the cat out. There is a light fresh covering of snow starting to settle, (SULKS EVEN MORE) and thinks; *I want sunshine!!!* All I can see through my window when I'm at my desk is the roof tops, because as we know heat rises, it takes longer for the snow to setttle on the roof than the ground.

I planted some sweet pea seeds yesterday and put them in the spare bedroom OH doesnt know yet shhh. I slept very well last night woke about 7.30 turned over and went back to sleep got up 9.30 lovely. Not got any plans for today, I usually work all night friday night and go to bed anytime between 7 and 8 am only manage approx 3 hrs sleep then feel c**p all day. Daughter going to tap soon then meeting a friend so will have a couple of hours to our selves if I can get OH out of bed 10.30 and he is still there !!!

Yesterday in Rugby it was lovely and sunny looked out today and it is frozen again so no putting in beds again after last weeks attempt when the ground was as hard as toughened steel.
Hope everyone else keeps toasty warm.

Irie Jan - love your post and description of your morning.

It's grey and overcast here, no frost today though, there's a cold wind (they say Ireland is the wind capital of Europe, ha ha).

Thanks for brightening me up this morning - have a good rest-of-day.

Still Siberia here. Very pretty though with frost on all the trees. Thanks for your post Jan, it made me smile. My cat goes out for a wee first thing then hotfoots it back to the radiator.
Ive done something nasty to my back which is making typing sitting and walking difficult. Actually it is making most things difficult so not sleeping well. Hopefully it will clear up soon.
I cant wait for things to warm up so I can dig the remainder of my tattie bed and sort a bean trench

HI Fiona! I hope you feel better soon! Back problems can be a real bummer! you take it easy as you can for a while. Don't go overdoing it! Sometimes with back trouble you think it's all cleared up, do something and hey presto it goes again!

My Eseve did not want to come in a while ago, is gone 12 .30 now, he must be around the back somewhere! I let him out the front but he ends up in the back garden or near by. like I said he thinks he is "wellard"!! He likes the outside. I have not long got in, went to the vilage to the post office. will go have a look see if the old g*tt is ready to come in yet!

Sitting here listening to the wind howling in the chimney. My bamboos are nearly tipping the ground with the force of the wind. Rain forecast along with this wind for the next two days should just about make for a miserable weekend.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                        Afternoon all,

I'm soo tired today - wet weather and wind depresses me (that and the fact that the dog has been squeeking all night to get out and rake the bin!!). Anyway, I'm about to head out in it and clean the girlies out...after that (providing I don't get a call out for work) I'm going to have a nice warm bath and enjoy some home made chilli for tea!

My cats are lazy little so and sos right now as well Irie...sleep all night...sleep all day. Although, Alfie (the baby) was found in the lounge today with a dead bird!!! He's a horrid wee thing!!!

                        Have a good day peeps!
I love to talk about nothing. It's the only thing I know anything about!!

Its been a nice day here no rain no wind a little bit of sunshine, enough for me to head over to my lottie, moved a few strawberry plants that are in pots onto the side that has lots of straw and manure on as they were frozen to the ground, dug up the last of the parsnips and some small swede, just pottered about. The water in the bottles inside the shed were frozen solid. I was nice and warm with my new wellie socks and wellies.
