  • Good or bad day

Have just been given redundancy finish date.30th June. This is 15 months since I was first told I will be redundant. Have to go back to Czech Republic early June
to train them on my job before being released. I will miss a lot of my broad beans
Have tried explaining this at work but they didn`t understand.:

Hi Mick - so the axe has fallen. Well at least you knew it was coming. Now make sure you stock up on Czech seeds - you can keep going on seed swaps on here for a good while!
I think I'm going to be in the same boat as you in the not too far distant future - and lots of other grapes have gone through the same.
So chin up, there may be something interesting lurking round the corner for you!
And fancy them not realising about your broad beans - some people!
Can't you get someone to look after the broad beans for you? Maybe freeze them for you?
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

The work I do has been moved to the Czech to save costs. I will need to go over there again to train them on my job after which I will be made redundant. Would not mind living in the Czech but it is not an option.Still I will have plenty of time to spend on the plot while looking (not too hard to start with) for another job. I live in beautiful Wiltshire.

I think my brother will eat them if I let him know which plot is mine. Only had plot this year and have not had chance to show him over when he`s visited.

they have lots of short season stuff, so you may be able to find beans that'll be quicker here next year
I always hate that, mnor rant thread, you make someone redundant, then you tell them that before they go they have to train their replacements.....how mad is that?
