  • Going bonkers keeping up with it

Just why do I bother. Surely it would be much easier to curl up and die. But, for my sins, I am now the somewhat reticent owner of a laptop. Why? you ask. Because I can. Is my reply.
So here I am, completely out of my comfort zone, having once again to learn new skills. Keep calm, I tell myself, It must be easy peasy. So I pours myself a glass of homemade brew....Big mistake!! I now cannot remember why I started this thread.

Bren, you do make me laugh! I resisted having a Lappy for aaaaaages. I kept throwing money at my old PC, because it was familiar, like you say about the 'comfort zone.' Then I went totally bonkers and got a Mac instead! Totally different, but so much more portable than it's predecessor. Go girl, you'll soon love it.

I do take your word for it but for me it's like going back to kindergqrten. I should know the answers but I have forgotten.

I have atm IE. What bothers me most is the finger scrolling. I could chuck it all where the sun don't shine.

Me too, I resisted for ages. Now I couldn't imagine anything different.
I also resisted wireless... now it's unthinkable to have to plug in (although the router does drop our signal if we move from one room to another)

Stick with it. Buy yourself a mouse (I cannot use the pad thingy at all). I haven't had a 'proper' pooter for years and wouldn't change back.

They (laptop and mobile) almost met.... At the very bottom of my garden.
Laptop is great though, even if I only know the on/off bit plus a few other functions

I'm a bit of a Luddite too Brengirl & kept saying I didn't want a laptop but gave in about a year ago when my old PC packed in. I still don't like the touch pad much & was going to buy a mouse but then thought that might be a pain as I'd have to find a surface to use that on ( I usually use the laptop on my knee) so I've persevered & got used to the pad. Stick with it, you'll soon wonder how you managed without a 'lappy'!

I must admit I think I may grow to love it. It wasn't excactly love at first sight more like just holding hands. My old pc is still in it's place on desktop watching me play with my new friend. Lol I actually feel unfathfull.

I use mine right in front of my old PC too. It did feel almost 'unfaithful' at first, but then I figured, if the old PC had behaved, it wouldn't have needed replacing!
