  • Getting the family together

Tomorrow is my birthday (I'm NOT saying this to get congratulations ) and Son no1 and Kissykit are in Hull and Portsmouth. We will all be sitting round the table though for my birthday dinner. I have told them what we are having to eat and they need to be there for 7pm. We are setting up 2 laptops on the table, making a Skype connection (hopefully son no1's video link will work, his connection speed is a bit slow) and we will all be able to chat and eat together. I think my future son-in-law will also be joining us from Brighton (good job we have 3 laptops )

I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

That puts a whole new meaning to a family meal.

A family that skypes together (there are other connection suppliers) stay together.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

Yes, you have to love technology when it's working.

Just to say the birthday meal went great. Kissykit and fiance got together in Portsmouth, so saved a bit on bandwidth. There was a little bit of freezing occasionally on the video but sound was clear all the way through. We chatted just like they were in the same room, and carried on nattering for a good couple of hours after we had finished eating. A brilliant idea, even if I say so myself
