Hey everyone, seems there's an amazing(?!) meteor shower going on tonight. Possibly up to 160 in one hour - super cool!

I'll be having a gander - maybe make a seasonal wish or two and remember my beloved Grandma who'd have giving her self frost bite and possibly fallen out of her bedroom window to have a look

I've poked my nose outside and no chance - it has been raining and it is still cloudy and of course there is so much light pollution here.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

What a shock. Virtually 100% cloud cover here. Always seems to be the case when there's something interesting in the sky.

Hey Shir, I was wondering where in the sky I should be looking too (it's quite big after all), as luckily for us it's clear skies for a change.

For me finding the big dipper is the easiest (only) one I can identify so start from there and.....

Is too overcast with me too. Called my dad as I knew he'd be interested, but it's over cast in the Midlands where he is too.

Yay - went out the back of the house (streetlighting less of a problem there) and the clouds had parted for a bit - looked roughly due north and there they were - just shooting stars! Clouds beginning to build now and I have a crook in my neck but that was great!!

Would loved to have seen this, but cloudy over Sheff last night. We watched Mystic River instead. Grim film, but my, what a cast. J'adore Sean Penn and Kevin Bacon.

Me too and missed the cloudless sky (also got a bit freaked by the monsters n didn't fancy standing in the pitch black field) so didn't see any shooting stars. is it happening tonight as well?
