  • Gardening advice from Prince Charles

My husband and I went to Clarence house in London on Tuesday to recieve his Iraq medal directly from Prince Charles. It was such an honour.

Not only is the man extremely charming and down to earth I told him I was an enthusiastic garderer - I grow my own and asked him for any tips...

To which he laughed heartily, said he couldn't think of anything straightaway and that I'd probably be able to give him tips.

I am so honored to have met our Prince of Wales. I am extremely proud of my husband and will get pics on here as soon as. However I was wondering have any of my fellow horticulturalists met someone famous?

(P.S. I'm off to New York tommorrow and going round the Caribbean for 2 weeks so I might not be in touch as often as I like.)

I gave bunches of flowers to the queen and Princess Di at Sandringham several years running when a little girl. Used to go a lot. They all walk about from church and stop and collect the posies!

Nearly bumped into Martin Johnson walking around the corner of our local Coop a few months ago, and I`ve stood next to Muzzy Issit in the local Post Office.

The Queen walked past me at a Gala when I was about 8 (she was 3 feet away, tiny woman)
Some jockey was at a wedding I went to last year & he said hello to us (Tony McCoy?)
Chris Eubank ran his scooter into me on Brighton prom & apologised (nice chap)
I sold Patricia Hodge a newspaper
I got a few minor authors in for book signings when I ran a book dept. - John Wilson (Angler), Terry Pratchett
We stood near to Lembit Opik & both Cheeky Girls in Brighton when they opened a shop (they were really orange)

I stood next to one of the guys from the Fast Show at a Waitrose Deli counter
I talked to DJ Joey Negro in a London club & the Sunburst Band shared our table before their set (but I couldn't remember it the morning after)

Zoe Ball jogged past me on Brighton prom

Lots of famous folk in Brighton, but I'm usually too gormless to spot them (my friend sold Jodie Marsh some shoes and said she was a cow. And an orange cow to boot)

I've slept with .... oh no, I couldnt possibly tell.
Met plenty of what some may call celeb's over the years, but when it comes down to it, even Her Majesty goes to the loo, just like you and me. (And Phil told me she breaks wind too!!)
