  • The Gardeners Rest is almost complete

Today I had a meeting with R I Poff, the Principal Contractor for the refurbishment of the GR.

We had a walk round and drew up a snagging list which will be started on November 1. Mr I Drawitt, the architect is especially pleased with the finished result and is convinced it will win much acclaim

Unfortunately, due to the location we can not have an mobile or internet connections but as mentioned in a previous update we have secured the services of H Potter who will be providing owls to carry important messages.

Dont want to say too much as it will spoil the suprise when we open

Is there going to be an opening party?

    Is there a stage?

Have the elves been accommodated into a new chimney?

Is it the same cook - yuk!

Do we have disco light (Oh the 70's)?

Is there enough seats for us sensible older persons?

Is there a park and ride?

Is the floor level as last year several Grapes rolled downhill as it were?

Is there a snog? sorry meant snug?

    Are dragons to allowed in?

Having never visited the GR and waiting with great anticipation for the opening night, can I have a postcode for my Sat Nav please ? I can also do some research of the surrounding area to see what gardening attractions are local.

OK no Google street scape there then ;0)

Not exactly a local is it?

Although I note the Railway Station and the Tea Room, do they by chance sell Bacon Rolls?

Lumpy go from Road Map view to Earth View and you can see the roof of the GR

I'm wondering if Harry Potter Owls are being used as no WiFi then is there a train from the same platform as Harry uses to get to Hogwarts ?

I'm going to go and have a look at our nearest train station and have a go at flinging myself against the wall that separates to two platforms.........I may end up needing plasters and/or crutches.

Cad - Nicos always puts up the last few GR's when it opens in Dec - you will have lots to keep you occupied
