  • Galician Magic

I wonered if anyone else living on other EU countries has what the hub and i call "Galician Magic"-totally surreal moments that you would never get in the UK. Friends were looking for houses, they stayed with us for three months house hunting- two months into house hunting the estate agent takes us to a lovely house in the Ribera Sacra. Ater opening one of the bedroom doors Jan came out a bit white saying theres a body on the bed, so Wal sticks his head in and we get "she's right he's fallen off his perch" . At this point the agent confirms there is infact a dead body on the bed - the husband had died two days ago(natural causes) and was laid out in the back room. The wife had never liked the house so had put it on the market the same day he died, and since my friends were interested the agent seized the moment ! I dont think i've ever moved so fast!! Didnt buy the house funnily enough

so they looked at a house, where a dead body was and bought it straight away? What about some police involvement? missing persons? Am I missing something?

No funny buisiness - he was just laid out until burying and as she never liked the house started viewings before she had buried him , not what you want to see when you're looking at the back bedroom and no they didn't buy it.

That is a bit gruesome Imagine the stories you could tell guests just before they went up to bed

Some of the 'froglets' must have 'magic moments'- the French must be as charmingly eccentric as the spanish? My magic moment this week was outside the bakers in town yesterday- as i pulled off i saw a cow being reversed out of someones garage!

This weeks magic moment happened yesterday- i picked up the husband from the airport and we cut accross country to see how someones hops were doing compared to ours. Going down a country lane are two people on horses- not unusual except that in the middle of nowhere 9 oclock at night the two riders are in full medieval knight costume- horses fully kitted out in what you would see at a jousting competition! We did several double takes - and i wish the camera hadnt been at the bottom of Phils bags!!

I was driving round the countryside once and did a double take as in the field was an elephant and 2 giraffes.

Unfortunately it doesn't count as this was in Kent.

We often have people traipsing though Nottingham in full battle regalia. With Starb*cks coffee cups in hand.
