Was at the good food show yesterday and a crowd of peeps were getting all excited at one stand so shoves my way to front to see what its all about and it was a steriliser for fruit & veg!!!!!!!!!!!

whats that all about i asks???? to sterilise your fruit & veg says the demonstrator you dont know what nasties are on them.....well as there are quite strict laws about it i says i think its overkill and i grow my own anyway so i know whatson them!!!!

what a gimick if people want to clean their veggies whats up with tap water

Sodium dichloroisocyanurate is a stable source of chlorine used as a disinfectant, biocide, industrial deodorant and detergent.
In small doses it is found in water purification tablets/filters.

It is the sodium salt of dichloroisocyanuric acid. Products containing sodium dichloroisocyanurate may also contain cyanuric acid.

It is reactive with water, urea, ammonia... Reaction produces toxic fumes including chlorine gas.

and somewhere else with basil. It comes down to hand-washing (with the pickers and packers), basic hygiene.

So you put your hands in it???

                        How totally stupid.

It must be something those that buy all their veg. shrink wrapped in plastic and 'packaged in a protective atmosphere' have on standby. Just incase they have to buy from the farmshop when what they want isn't available at the supermarket.

                          Pathetic.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.
