A garage is a perfectly 'normal' place to put a freeer if it is not in use for a car or other stuff. Hopefully it is fully waterproofed? Mine is a little leaky so would not be great!

If your are renting your garage away from your home there may be restrictions - so check your lease.

A boss of mine many (yeah, ok, too many) years ago told me the only 'stupid' question is the one you don't ask.

Many of us here 'may' already know the answer but if you don't.....well we're here to help.

You need to be carful with auto defrosting units....these are normally Fridge Freezer.

They have a tendancy to kickin the defrosting if the temp is too low. So in a garage in winter the can defrost them selves.

You may be best getting a second hand unit with out defrost.
