Freezer help....

    Freezer help....

    We picked up a (free) freezer yesterday from one of my mum's friends...

    Had to lay it down in the car to get it home though. We have put it in place, but not yet switched it on, as everyone keeps telling us is has to 'settle'.

    Question is.... how long does it have to 'settle' for? When can I switch it on and fill it up??

    24 hours is best to let freezers settle in before turning on

      If you picked it up last night it should be ok some time this evening? If I jiggle one about I usually leave it about 24 hours.

      Have you got enough to fill it already?

        Oh yes!! We've got a freezer already in the garage, but it's packing up (is about 15 years old) so this is a replacement for it.

        We've also got the monthly shop coming on Wednesday night, most of which goes straight in the freezer, and it's an extra large shop for Christmas!

          24 hours is enough.

            When we got our new fridge freezer earlier this year the instructions said four hours was fine.

            Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

            Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

              I'd leave it until it stops wee-ing on your floor, and stops scratching at the door, then you should be fine.
