  • Free photo editing software?

Morning! I'm going to be home off sick- work colleague shared her bug!- inbetween collapsing in a heap I'm going to catch up on stuff I want to do. One of them is some photo editing. My DVD bit on the comp. tower wont open so I can't put the copy of Elements on that I have. Can anyone recommend some free editing software? I need to resize pics and be able to do some enhancing and want to have a go at layering( I think it's called)where you can move a part of a photo to another one.
    Any ideas?

Serif Photpplus is free and not too bad, layering isn't about moving parts of a picture around per se, its about enhancing/removing either the whole or parts. i.e brightening the sky whilst leaving other area's as is.

          Hi Lettucegrow,
Try this: Photoscape : Free Photo Editing Software (Photo Editor) Download

It's one of the best freeware applications there, perfect for resizing, adjusting backlight etc (not sure if it does layers as I use Photoshop for that) but for freeware it's pretty powerful.

edit: If you have the element key code why not download it from web, you don't need the DVD.

I think Picasa is brilliant for editing. And you can do some stuff at http://www.picnik.com and Photoshop.com too ...
