Love the Gene Genie!!! I think you've forgotten who you're talking to. An overweight, over-the-hill, nicotine-stained, borderline-alcoholic homophobe with a superiority complex and an unhealthy obsession with male bonding. You make that sound like a bad thing.

| I loved LoM but I missed the last few episodes (don't know why), so don't know what happened at the end. I keep looking for a repeat on digital but haven't found it yet. *Heavy philosophical comment coming up* A lot of people complain about the number of repeats on TV, they must live extremely humdrum boring lives where nothing unexpected happens where you don't have the chance to or are unable to record a series you have been following. If you are reading a series of books (eg Harry Potter) and you are unable to read them for a while, you have the opportunity to borrow or buy the books later. This isn't so with TV programs. Series I haven't seen the end of due to unforseen circumstances are:- LoM, Budgie (strikes and power cuts), Band of Gold, Lost, and several others I can't recall immediately. I don't sit watching TV all day or all evening, but I do enjoy the odd serial and I find it really annoying when I miss episodes through no fault of my own. I actually set up the video to record "Lost" whilst Brian was ill. His mother saw fit to unplug the TV and video 'cos she couldn't understand why it kept coming on when she hadn't touched it.

| We gave up on Lost because we missed a couple of episodes and now its on Sky 1 we don't see it at all. I do like the dramas on BBC1 and the iplayer they have now makes it easy to catch up with stuff I missed. Can't wait for Ashes to Ashes, hope its as good as LoM

| hum - not sure about it.... much as I adore the Gene man, I need to see another episode. They 'producers' said 'don't compare' (see, now I'm waggling my fingers *sigh) - but then they do the very same thing with refering to Sam Tyler all the time.

| Yeah..... I think I liked it. Certainly brought back memories of the 80's. Did we really dress like that? But will it be as good as Life on Mars, that is the question

| I was a bit disappointed - I sort of felt that it was LoM all over again, just set in a different time frame. But the police canteen humour and one liners were great, not sure I think we used to use an Italian restaurant at the back of Holborn nick which was just like that one in last night's episode. I'll watch next week to see whether I like it better or not. But, Keeley Hawes is much nicer looking than John Sims so hey ho .............

| Did enjoy Ashes to Ashes, but as I hadn't seen all of series 2 LoM I was a bit puzzled at first. Reckon next episode will be better as we all know who's who now. Still trying to puzzle out what it is I find strangely sexy about Gene Hunt though...I must like macho men!
