Well, after a few late, sunny days it's wet and cold here again. Autunm indeed!

There's been that "Autumn feel" in the air for a couple of weeks now.

When I was a nipper, I used to know it was here when, on the way to school (on foot, I might add) I could see the spiders webs covered in dew. Beautiful sight though all the same.

Ah yes Scarey- dew covered cobwebs;conkers;cough sweets and cold mornings on the way to school wrapped up in a duffle coat- but having to carry it home at 4pm cos it was too hot to wear it .
Golden and red leaves;the smell of damp vegetation;acorns and yellow smog...such memories eh??

Floomin chilly and cloudy here today too, although we've had 4/5 gorgeous days up to now. Definately time to fish out the woolly jumpers now, though I don't mind autumn really, it's usually sunnier than summer! And there's all the apples coming ready, trees changing colour, first log fires of the season, Christmas to start thinking about...

Thanks for cheering me up Nicos!
No, I actually do quite like Autumn but I just wish we'd had a summer before it this year! The last few days have been lovely & sunny though but it's been a bit more 'autumnal' today.

I prefer Spring myself as it's further away from Winter

no idea on the exact time, just the day, cos each solstice/equinox is a 3 day festival for us, day before, at dawn until day after at sunset.
so the incinerator ( no bonfire housing rule) will be primed, and the corn on the cob, baked pots, marshmallows and sausages will be ready in a few hours for a mini celebration .

I can't help it, and I do sincerely apologise, but we've had a glorious weekend. There's a heavy dew in the mornings, but the sun has been wonderful.

I love Autumn, too, when I can put thoughts of winter out of my mind. I've already got my first cold of the year, so am sat here with honey and lemon, trying to feel well!! I just wish the summer had been nice, as the leaves look fantastic when it's been hot. They just look a bit drab where I am. Picked my first conker, though. DOn't know why i still do that - they always end up rotting somewhere or other!

Damp and windy here today. Has felt like Autumn for a couple of weeks now, dew on the grass, huge spider webs, and leaves beginning to fall onto the lawn (along with my cooking apples that I can't reach to pick).
