  • Feeling really pleased

Today I was at work when the radio went. Could I go and check two plant varieties. Someone was looking for plants for Tatton flower show. So off I trots, only to find that the two trays of Ajuga were ones that I had split into p9s, and are now lovely big happy plants. It's unlikely that they will actually be in flower in time to go to Tatton, but hey, just thinking that the 37 out of 40 little scraps had all survived and might end up there was brilliant.
It's the best part of my job, seeing little bits of plant turning into something that a customer will pick up and fall in love with. Not that all my stuff survives of course. But some cuttings I did a couple of weeks back have taken, and as we are potting on p9s a lot at the moment I'm finding things that I split when I had not long started. I feel like a parent..but my little ones don't answer back and throw tantrums. They do sulk sometimes though.
TBH it's rather reasuring to find that I didn't kill all of them off.

Sounds amazing! I get excited when things self seed, and the sage I divided earlier this year has gone bonkers, so I know excatly what you mean. Mind you, no one else is going to come along and take them to the Tatton show!

      Fame at last, eh?
