Milly huge big, but gentle hugs are on the way to you.
At least now you know why you feel so poorly, that is the start to you feeling better. You do need to try and rest. I cant help much more than that I am so sorry to say.
My love and hugs to you

my sympathys are with you,i had it a while ago,the pain was awfull, but i saw my gp,went back 2 days later as requisted and sure enought the rash just started,in my case because it was cought in the first instance i was given some pills that help, but you have to be in the first few hours, they are also expensive for the surgery, don't know how you will stand at going into work as if anyone pregnant is bad for them, also you will not be fit for man nor beast,so put yourself first and rest,or you could find yourself forced of work for a lot longer than 2 weeks, big hugs, and rest,

My husband had it a few years back. At the time we had one or other of the elderly parents in hospital so there wasn't much chance of just 'resting for a couple of weeks'! He said it was very painful - people tend to shrug it off because it's related to a childhood illness but you have my full sympathy. I hope they can give something to relieve it for you.

My sympathy, I had it in my face last year - absolutely hell. Try and rest as much as you can and dont scratch, I was told the nerve endings have to repair themselves so the tingling can last 6 weeks.x

You are entitled to satutory sick pay. Get well soon, your GP should have prescribed acyclovir.

Poor you! Hope you feel better soon. I wonder if Shingles is receptive to UV treatment, given that it's the Herpes virus that causes it? Sounds like an excuse for a holiday!

Unfortunately, the reverse is the case, UV radiation will activate the virus, so this lovely grey weather is more suitable for recovery.

If you don't take rest and stop fretting it will take longer to go away! So, to your bed, lots of books and I'm sure either a sickness clause in your mortgage agreement or Statuatory Sick Pay or any of the benefits available will cover your mortgage! GO TO BED!!
