I love it when the clocks go forward; it's such a huge difference to the days.....and I love it just before they go back again; when all the crops are drying out, the seeds are being saved and packaged up, and this year hopefully my greenhouse will be full of winter squashes all hardening up for the months ahead...not to mention all the beans drying out for soups and chillis during the horrid winter months.

            September.

The days are often pleasant temperatures for being outdoors, without too strong sun, and adequate day length.
The early-autumn sights can be pleasing. Many fruit trees are loaded with colourful and tasty fruits for harvesting. Mmmmm........
The spider webs sparkling with dew on the lawn.
The misty long-distance views across countryside when out walking.
Before the October storms arrive, there seem to be more calm, quiet, mild days in September. Very pleasant to be in the countryside at those times.
The Schools are back, so there's more freedom to go on holiday for a week without the crowds - and holiday deals can be cheaper, too.

Maybe June, because the only birthday in my family is MINE!!!
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

I dunno, I look forward to all of them. I love summer [now] because of the growing thing, but winter has always been my favourite, especially winters like we had last year, and used to have when I was a kid.

September has to be my favourite - usually nice weather, not too hot, lots of crops to harvest, jams and chutneys to make, kids back to school.
Least favourite - the cold dark days of January and February

The one that has the most sun in!

This obviously varies from year to year, it used to be July or August, now is more likely to be October lol

Me too, I love October onwards, my birthday, then Hallowe'en, bonfire night, Christmas. I love sitting by a warm fire with a good book and a hot drink on a cold, dark evening. I enjoy spring when there's the sowing and planting and all that potential, but it's always tempered by the fear that we might have an unbearably hot summer just around the corner.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

Me too Wayne - I suffer from SAD so any extra daylight is good to me.

I love it when the clocks go back and the Christmas lights go up in the village - its magical. But I also adore January/ February when the Hellebores start to flower, and June coz its my birthday too (so many Geminis on the vine).

I couldn't choose. I'm not a bible thumper but I do think there's a huge lot of truth in the poetic verses that say "To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven". The spring months are hopeful, exciting - all the planning and sowing. Summer months and things really get into action - flowering, setting fruit. Autumn and we're safely gathing in. Lovely to have your seed packets saved and the cupboard full of jams and chutneys. Winter - a time for a rest from the hard work, sitting in the warm deciding what you'll grow next time. And Christmas in the middle to cheer us on.

I'm a great believer in the cycle of the season. I don't like to try to grow things out of season by artificial means. Even death and re-birth are part of it all -we should know as gardeners. That's what our compost heaps are - the death of last year's plants and the power house for next year's bumper harvest.

                              Cor, I go on a bit don't I?
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.
