  • Expanding Veggie patch

OH is digging her heels in as my veggie patch is expanding.

See last years pic and now to see the extra beds and the greenhouse too.

Was a good day to work in the patch yesterday! Still trying to convince her that I neeeeed the space next to the greenhouse too... not haveing much luck at the mo Will have to keep at it. Been telling her that Maybe a greenhouse will go better there ( you can imagine the reaction that I got for that idea!)

Keep telling her that it's good for me to be outside getting excersize and all... plus my daughter loves helping in the patch! Will keep trying

The green that you see in the now photo is my perpetual spinach which I've had to transplant.

I even had to take down 1 of my sheds.... oh well.

cannot wait for the new growing season

If you turn the slab's the other way instead of 3ft gap's between bed's only 2ft gap's result a extra 2ft on the bed's a cunning plan try that one she may not notice....jacob..

they're short beds... the paths are only 2ft... the long bed is 10ft and the 2 beds are bout 1.1m wide.... I'm one of those confused peeps that never quite converted to metric.... So I now have 1 long bed and 4 smaller beds.

Going to try and sneak the scaff plank box and the other 2 green 1/2m square boxes down next to the greenhouse and see if I get away with it....

What about using some nice looking containers down the sides of the lawn, dwarf runners etc that look pretty, or salad crops with interesting looking leaves. She might not object too much then, or if you have flower borders at the edge of the lawn, I can't quite see from your pic, sneak some veggies in among the flowers. If you haven't offer to put some in, then sneak in the veggies
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
